Terms of Website Use

These Terms set out the main conditions for using kaplvested.info, a website owned by the Carpathian Human Rights Agency “Vested”.

By using the website, you agree to follow these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the website.

1. Purpose of the website

The website was created to share knowledge, human rights information, the Organisation’s results, successful practices and opportunities for civic participation.

Through the website, you can, among other things:

  • read news, publications, guidance and other information materials;
  • learn about the Organisation’s projects and results;
  • read success stories;
  • subscribe to the information digest;
  • submit a volunteer application;
  • send an enquiry;
  • make one-time or recurring donations;
  • use other available information services.

We try to keep information current and clear, but we cannot guarantee that every page will always contain the latest information.

2. Use of website materials

News, publications, guidance, information materials, photographs, videos and success stories published on the website may be used without prior permission, including for:

  • quotation;
  • downloading;
  • republication;
  • sharing on social media;
  • use in educational, informational and civic materials.

When using a material, please identify the Carpathian Human Rights Agency “Vested” as the source and, when sharing it online, include an active link to the relevant page of the website.

Excerpts or shortened versions may be used provided that the meaning is not distorted.

Materials must not be used in a way that:

  • substantially changes or distorts their meaning;
  • demeans people shown or mentioned;
  • creates a false impression that the Organisation endorses a person, political force, product, service or initiative;
  • supports fraud, discrimination, violence or any other unlawful activity;
  • conceals the true source of the material.

Logos, photographs and other materials belonging to partners, donors or other third parties may be shared in the form and context in which they appear on the website. Rights in those materials remain with their respective owners.

The publication of a third party’s logo or other material on the website does not authorise its separate use in advertising or the creation of a false impression of an official partnership or endorsement.

If specific conditions are stated next to a particular material, those conditions apply.

3. Information and guidance materials

Website materials are provided for general informational and educational purposes.

Laws, procedures and circumstances may change. Information on the website may not reflect every aspect of a particular situation and does not replace individual professional advice where such advice is needed.

Links to materials from public authorities, partners and other sources are provided for users’ convenience.

4. Acceptable use

Users must use the website lawfully, in good faith and without harming other people or the Organisation’s work.

You must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the administration area, accounts, databases or servers;
  • interfere with the website, overload it or bypass its security measures;
  • upload or distribute malicious software;
  • use automated tools to collect personal data on a large scale;
  • send spam or knowingly false messages;
  • impersonate the Organisation or its employee, volunteer, partner or representative;
  • use the website for fraud, threats, discrimination, harassment or other unlawful activity;
  • violate the rights of other people.

We may restrict access to particular website functions where this is necessary for security, preventing misuse or complying with the law.

5. Enquiries and volunteer applications

Sending an enquiry through the website does not guarantee that a service, consultation, financial assistance or other support will be provided.

Submitting the volunteer form is an application for possible engagement. It:

  • does not guarantee a volunteer role;
  • does not create an agreement with the Organisation;
  • does not require the Organisation to offer a task.

A specific role, timeframe, format, safety requirements, possible reimbursement of expenses and other conditions are agreed separately after the application has been reviewed.

A written agreement and reimbursement guidance, where required, are provided after a specific volunteer role has been identified.

6. Donations

Donations are voluntary. Online payments are processed through the external payment service LiqPay. The Organisation does not receive or store full bank card details.

Where a donation is made for a particular project or targeted campaign, the Organisation will first use it for the stated purpose.

If the targeted project is not implemented, the campaign is closed or becomes no longer relevant, or funds remain unused after the project has been completed, the Organisation may direct those funds to other projects or statutory activities that correspond to its statutory purposes.

By donating to a particular project, the donor agrees to the possibility of such reallocation and use of the funds for other projects or areas of the Organisation’s statutory activity. This condition may also be stated on the relevant campaign page.

As a general rule, a completed donation is not refundable. A refund may be made where required by Ukrainian law or the payment service’s rules, or in the event of a confirmed mistaken or duplicate payment, at the Organisation’s decision.

By setting up recurring monthly support, the donor agrees that the selected amount will be charged periodically through LiqPay.

Recurring support may be cancelled through the cancellation form on the website or by contacting info@kaplvested.info. Cancellation stops future charges but does not result in a refund of donations made before cancellation.

7. External links and services

The website may contain links to:

  • partner and donor websites;
  • public authority resources;
  • Google Forms and Google Workspace;
  • payment services;
  • YouTube and other external platforms;
  • third-party documents and materials.

When you follow a link to an external resource, its own terms of use and privacy policy apply.

We try to use reliable sources, but we do not continuously control the content, availability, security or subsequent changes of external websites and services.

8. Personal data and cookies

Personal data collected when using the website is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

The website uses necessary technical tools to operate its functions and to remember accessibility settings and the user’s analytics choice.

Google Analytics is used according to the user’s choice. Settings can be changed using the shield button in the website footer.

9. Accessibility and website operation

We aim to make the website accessible to as wide a range of users as possible.

Some functions may be temporarily unavailable because of:

  • technical maintenance;
  • updates;
  • hosting or external service problems;
  • circumstances outside the Organisation’s control.

We may change the website’s structure, design, functions and content without prior notice, provided that this does not infringe users’ rights.

10. Liability

The Organisation is not liable for harm arising solely from:

  • incorrect or unlawful use of website materials;
  • decisions made without considering the particular circumstances and any necessary professional advice;
  • the actions of external websites, services or payment systems;
  • temporary unavailability of the website for reasons outside the Organisation’s control;
  • false or inaccurate information voluntarily provided by a user.

These provisions do not limit the Organisation’s liability where such a limitation is not permitted by law.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms when there are changes to:

  • the law;
  • website functions;
  • donation methods;
  • digital services;
  • the Organisation’s activities.

The current version is always published on this page together with the date of the latest update.
