About publication
This leaflet-booklet is about the advocacy campaign of Uzhhorod residents aimed at protecting the Victory Park area in the Kirpichka neighborhood from development. For your information, this is issue №2, 2017; below you can find issue №1, 2015. Key findings:
The advocacy campaign achieved its goals almost on win-win terms. Victory Park was recognized by the Uzhhorod City Council, land allocation was carried out for 8.5 hectares, and the 2.2-hectare reservoir was officially certified. Instead of lawsuits and information wars, constructive debates are taking place within the community regarding the further improvement of the territory and park management based on sustainability principles. Of course, discussions remain regarding adjacent undeveloped land plots, but the campaign has gone down in history as the most successful demonstration of the citizens' will for change and their influence on the course of history
