The handbook examines the Polish methodology for informing citizens about the services provided by executive bodies of local communities in accordance with the principles of good governance. It highlights the experience of piloting this methodology and provides illustrations through descriptions of services offered by the executive bodies of the territorial community of the villages of Baranyntsi, Pidhorob, Dovhe Pole, and Barvinok in the Uzhhorod district of the Zakarpattia region. The service descriptions are current as of January 1, 2008

Key findings:
This publication summarizes the results of implementing the Polish methodology for informing citizens about the work of local self-government bodies, based on the executive bodies of the Baranyntsi Village Council in terms of transparency. The development of detailed service information cards (specifying the list of documents, deadlines, and costs) significantly increases the level of community trust, reduces service time for residents, and minimizes corruption risks through the equal treatment of all clients.
