Resilient Local and Regional Authorities in Ukraine and the Visegrad Four Through Cooperation

About the project

The full-scale war and the European integration process require local and regional authorities of Ukraine to adapt their work to the principles and requirements of EU cohesion policy, strengthen multi-level coordination, and develop administrative and financial capacity. The project is aimed at enhancing the institutional resilience of authorities through practical training, studying the experience of the Visegrad Four countries, and building long-term partnerships in regional and territorial development.

Target Audience

The main target group consists of representatives of local and regional authorities of Ukraine. Scholars, experts, and organizations working in the field of regional policy and territorial cooperation are also involved in the project's implementation.

Expected Results

Representatives of local and regional authorities will gain a better understanding of the principles of EU cohesion policy, multi-level governance, and the possibilities of applying European instruments in regional development practice.

Practically oriented learning modules, trainings, and a study visit will help participants learn about the territorial cooperation experience of the Visegrad Four countries and the activities of European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation.

Based on the project's results, recommendations will be prepared on aligning Ukrainian approaches with EU requirements, developing multi-level coordination, and integrating territorial cooperation into state regional policy.

Established partnerships between Ukrainian and European institutions will foster further exchange of experience, the preparation of joint initiatives, and the strengthening of regional economic resilience.
