Eurocommunity: Financial Opportunities for Development and European Integration

About the project

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian communities to establish sustainable partnerships with municipalities in European Union countries, join European networks, participate in EU programs, and attract international funding.

Special attention is paid to the creation of European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTCs) – a tool that enables communities to develop permanent inter-municipal partnerships, implement joint projects, and attract resources for local development.

Within the project, communities will receive educational, methodological, consulting, and mentoring support to initiate international cooperation and practically utilize the opportunities of European integration.

Expected Results

As a result of the project implementation, representatives of Ukrainian communities will better understand the opportunities for European territorial cooperation, participation in EU programs, and attracting international funding.

Communities will receive practical knowledge, methodological materials, standard documents, consulting, and mentoring support for establishing partnerships with EU municipalities, preparing joint projects, and initiating procedures for creating European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTCs).

At least 10 community profiles will be developed for presentation to potential international partners, and at least one group of Ukrainian and European communities will receive support in preparing for the creation of an EGTC.

The project will also facilitate the initiation of a sustainable dialogue between Ukrainian and EU communities and strengthen the capacity of local self-government bodies to develop international cooperation in accordance with the strategic needs of their communities.
