A coordination round table on strengthening interaction in countering gender-based violence was held in Vynohradiv.
The event brought together representatives of local self-government bodies, public authorities, law enforcement agencies, social services, the legal sector, and civil society. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss practical mechanisms of interaction between various actors in the system of preventing and countering gender-based violence, as well as to explore ways to further strengthen it.
During the thematic discussion, participants focused on the issue of cross-sectoral interaction in responding to gender-based violence. They discussed opportunities for improving coordination between government authorities, law enforcement agencies, social services, and civil society organizations, the importance of a clear division of roles and responsibilities, and the need for prompt information exchange within the framework of legislation.
Special attention was paid to the survivor's referral pathway. Participants analyzed challenges that may arise during referral and receiving legal, psychological, social, and medical assistance. In particular, they discussed the need to ensure service accessibility, proper communication between institutions, and preventing situations where a survivor is forced to search for necessary assistance across different services on their own.
Overall, our organization has developed a Roadmap for survivors.
Holding such coordination meetings contributes to the formation of sustainable cross-sectoral interaction, building the capacity of local institutions, and creating a more effective support system for people affected by gender-based violence.
The event served as a platform for professional dialogue and developing a shared vision for further steps to strengthen the system of GBV prevention and response at the local level.
